Code of Conduct

The Unwritten Laws

The realm of Mystavaria is stitched together by stories, shared by strangers who agree — at least, for a time — to share the same dream. These guidelines are here to protect that dream — for you, and everyone else who enters it. All who walk the waking paths of Mystavaria are expected to follow them.

1. Be excellent to each other.

We have zero tolerance for harassment, targeted cruelty, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind. This includes racism, sexism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and religious* or cultural bigotry. If it makes someone feel unsafe or unwelcome, it has no place here.

*Note: The only exception to this is in-character bias tied to Mystavaria's divine orders. Some characters may follow gods who are opposed to others — including deities of chaos, light, or shadow. Conflict between orders is allowed within the world of the game, as part of roleplay. Out-of-character religious discrimination, however, remains strictly forbidden.

2. Respect Boundaries

Do not push past someone's boundaries — ever. Non-consensual sexual acts or themes are bannable offenses, both in and out of character. If someone says no, you stop. If you're not sure? Ask. There is no "...but my character would."

3. Respect RP Preferences and Public Spaces

Mystavaria welcomes all styles of roleplay, from those who enjoy light, casual play to those who live and breathe their character's every word. To support this, we've built a unique RP Preferences system that lets players indicate their desired level of in-character immersion: Minimal, Casual, Preferred, or Serious.

For this system to work, players will need to honestly and accurately represent their RP style, and in turn, respect the preferences of others. Misrepresenting your setting or repeatedly disregarding someone else's chosen level may result in staff adjusting and locking your RP mode to something more accurate.

Public channels (such as shouts, yells, and general chat) are considered in-character spaces. Please keep OOC (out-of-character) discussion to private tells or designated OOC areas. Help preserve the illusion — it only works if we all play along.

4. One Character Online at a Time

Yes, you may have multiple characters.
No, you may not play them at the same time.

No logging in to multiple accounts, alts, or characters simultaneously. Period. It's unfair and immersion-breaking.

5. Don't Be a Troll.

Repeated player-killing, harassment, or disruption without fair IC reason is not acceptable. Stories need stakes — but not cruelty, and roleplay is not an excuse for being a jerk.

6. IC Actions = IC Consequences

That said... Don't expect immunity. If your character steals, lies, kills, or otherwise misbehaves — expect the world to respond. You lie, cheat, or betray? Staff won't protect you from consequences or retaliation of your in-character decisions.

7. Even If You're Drunk

Playing drunk, high, or distracted? You are still responsible for your behaviour, actions, and character when you are online. Being under the influence is not an excuse. We suggest refraining from logging in if you're not capable of being decent.

8. Abuse Not, Exploit Not

If something feels broken, it probably is. Exploiting known bugs or glitches — even silently — is grounds for removal. Report bugs instead of using them for personal gain. Abusing a known bug will have consequences, no matter how minor. We expect honesty and good faith.

9. No Impersonating Staff

There may be magic that lets you look like another player in-game, but pretending to be staff crosses the line. Please do not claim to be an admin or staff member - in or out of game. Pretending to wield authority you don't have will have consequences.

10. No Advertising or Spam

Please refrain from promoting external servers, communities, products, or spam in-game or via our official Discord without explicit permission from admin. Mystavaria is not an ad board.

11. Respect Privacy

Never pressure others to reveal personal details, share outside contact info, or post images or identity-related content. Doxxing in any form is strictly forbidden. This means not asking others for real names, locations, social handles, or anything they haven't freely shared. Real-world safety comes first.

12. Don't Police Other Players

If there's an issue, contact staff. Please try not to moderate the game yourself. Escalation rarely helps — and can lead to consequences for you as well.

13. Staff Are Fair. Demi-Gods Are Not

In-character player "demi-gods" may be biased, strange, or as chaotic as any mortal story. But official admin, moderators, and staff members are held to a standard of fairness across all players, regardless of citizenship, guild membership, order, clans, or any other in-game affiliations.

14. Reporting & Contact

If you experience harassment, feel unsafe, or see something concerning:

  • Email: mystavaria@gmail.com
  • Use in-game commands like BUG and TYPO, or contact a staff member directly.

Staff rulings are final, but not always sealed in stone. We try to be fair, but if something feels wrong, you may appeal by email. Ultimately, the creators — Aion and Alora — have the final say.

One Last Thing:

This world is made better by the people who choose to respect it. Help keep Mystavaria vibrant, welcoming, and wondrous — for yourself and everyone else who shares the dream.
