Help: Guild Challenges
When a guildmember becomes dissatisfied with the performance or representation
of the Guildmaster, they may wish to question their authority of the guild.
This can be done using GUILD CHALLENGE LEADER.
Starting an Election
When the Guildmaster challenged, an election will begin. The first two Mystavarian
months (two real world days) of an election are consider the "Campaigning" period.
During this time, other guildmembers may also challenge the Guildmaster (using
GUILD CHALLENGE LEADER) to add themselves as a candidate in the forthcoming
election. During this time, candidates are encouraged to share their goals and
aspirations for the guild with other members in order to spread awareness and
gain support.
After the campaigning period closes, all members of the guild have three
Mystavarian months (three real world days) to cast their vote for the
candidate of their choice (see HELP VOTING). At the end of this time, the
candidate with the most votes will be declared victorious.
Tie-Breakers
In the event of a tie, the former Guildmaster is given preference and will
maintain their position as guild leader if they are one of the tied candidates.
In the case of an election with multiple candidates in a tie and the former
Guildmaster is NOT one of the contenders, the Guildmaster will be removed from
their position and a run-off election will ensue between the remaining tied
candidates.
In most cases, a run-off election will be enough to break the tie and determine
a winner, however if that is not the case, another run-off election will take
place and will do so until a victor is finally determined.
Challenging a Vacant Position
Although likely a seldom occurrence, there may be a time when the Guildmaster
steps down or leaves the guild without having a successor in place. When this
occurs, their position will be left vacant. The first guild member of high
enough rank to issue a GUILD CHALLENGE will automatically ascend to the
Guildmaster position.
Should any other guild members take issue with this, they are advised to
GUILD CHALLENGE the new leader to start a proper election.
It is recommended to read HELP ELECTIONS and HELP VOTING to further
learn and understand the overall election process.
