πŸ’° How to Earn Money

Insert side hustle here.

Coins open doors — but in Mystavaria, earning them can be achieved in more ways than just grinding. Wealth comes to those who explore, serve, create, and trade. Whether you're chasing coins for survival or for influence, there are many paths to fill your pouch.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Quests and Adventures

Quests are the lifeblood of any adventurer.

  • Speak to NPCs with GREET <npc> to see if they offer quests.
  • You can also try ASK <npc> <keyword>.

The QUESTLOG command (or QL for short) is a way to keep track of and see a listing of your currently active quests. When you obtain a new quest for the first time, you will see a message and the quest will automatically be added to your quest log.

New players are encouraged to explore Arborvella and Privia, where simple quests from friendly townsfolk offer early coin and experience.

🧭 Exploration and Hidden Wealth

The world is rich with secrets — sometimes quite literally. The observant are rewarded — be sure to pay attention to descriptions and examine suspicious objects.

  • Look carefully: coins may be hidden in plain sight or stashed in forgotten places.
  • Treasure chests and abandoned caches may contain obsidian coins or rare valuables.

Sometimes you may encounter highly prized items or artifacts that may have little worth or meaning to you personally, but which others may desire. If you don't need it but it sparkles — someone else might pay dearly.

  • Keep an eye out for collectors who may pay extra for the items they desire.
  • Most merchants will at least pay some amount for random trinkets and artifacts.

βš”οΈ Combat Rewards

Enemies often carry spoils:

  • Many mobs and NPCs drop coins when defeated.
  • Some factions will pay for the bodies of their enemies — yes, literally.
  • Others might offer bounties for clearing out local threats.

Be sure to check and loot corpses before leaving the area β€” often more than blood is left behind.

🌿 Gather and Sell Resources

The natural world is abundant for those willing to put in a little work. Learning to be resourceful and economical can build a reliable income stream.

  • Gather herbs, stones, and other natural resources.
  • FORAGE, HARVEST, MINE, or FISH in appropriate areas and with appropriate skills.
  • Sell at trade markets and commodity shops, or barter with other players who may need the resources.

πŸ”¨ Crafting and Commerce

Crafters are the backbone of many economies. The more skilled your craft, the higher quality and thus more valuable your items become.

  • Use gathered or purchased resources to mix potions, craft tools, armour, or magical items.
  • Open up your own shop and sell your goods or trade directly with other players.

🀝 Offer Your Services

Other players can be your customers:

  • Offer healing, escort services, or spell casting
  • Take on player contracts, or agree to act as a paid mercenary
  • Refill potions (alchemy), offer tattoos (drawing magic), or come up with other ideas based on skills you have that others may not

Remember, the value of a service is what someone's willing to pay for it.
