Help: Clan Impeachments
There may come a time when the members of a clan become dissatisfied with
the Clan Leader. In this situation, Clansmen are encouraged to lodge a
formal complaint against the Clan Leader.
Filing a Complaint
Formal complaints are visible only to Clan Veterans and Clan Founders. They
are completely anonymous and Clan Leaders have zero visibility to any complaints
that have been filed, as this system is meant as a way for Veterans and Founders
to act on behalf of the clan members should the leader's actions gone awry.
To lodge a complaint, clan members may use the command CLAN COMPLAINT <text>.
Veterans and Founders can review complaints using CLAN COMPLAINTS.
Notion to Impeach
If a Clan Veteran or Clan Founder comes to the conclusion that the Clan Leader
is no longer fit for the position, they may file a notion to impeach the leader.
Impeachments must be submitted with a reason which will be visible by all
Clan Veterans, Founders, and the leader themselves, so it is wise to ensure the
reason is thoughtful and valid. As Founders cannot be ejected from the clan,
they are immune to any impulsive backlash that may come from the Clan Leader.
An order of impeachment must be sanctioned (approved) or vetoed (denied) by
one other Veteran or Founder. If sanctioned, the Clan Leader is put into a
state of probation, removing their leader privileges. If a successor has been
appointed, the successor will ascend to the Clan Leader position. Otherwise,
the Veteran or Founder who filed the impeachment will take on the position
(though they may wish to appoint a successor and immediately step down - this
is their right and they have the choice to do so).
The following commands are available surrounding impeachments:
CLAN LEADER IMPEACH <reason> File a notion to impeach the clan leader.
CLAN LEADER IMPEACH RETRACT Retract a notion to impeach.
CLAN IMPEACHMENTS Review any notions to impeach.
CLAN IMPEACHMENT SANCTION Sanction (approve) a notion to impeach.
CLAN IMPEACHMENT VETO Veto (deny) a notion to impeach.
