This guide focuses specifically on how to gain experience and progress
through levels in Mystavaria.
Experience Points (XP)
Experience (or XP) is a measure of your capabilities and growth as an
adventurer. As you explore the realm and engage in various activities,
you will earn experience, which contributes to your overall progress
and level.
You can view the amount of experience you have accumulated using the
EXPERIENCE command, or XP for short. This will also display the
amount of experience you are worth to another, should you become their
victim. Your experience can also be seen under your SCORE.
Ways to Gain Experience
At present, there are three primary ways to earn experience in Mystavaria:
1. Quests: As you roam around the land, you will encounter many
denizens (NPCs) with various tasks and adventures. These quests can
range from simple errands to complex puzzles, providing you with
correlating amounts of experience upon completion.
2. Combat: Engaging in combat with mobs, animals, and NPCs (PvE)
and successfully defeating your opponent comes with a reward of
experience based on their level and difficulty. It's also possible
to engage in combat with other players (PvP or PK); however, this
often carries much more risk, as your own demise will result in a
loss of experience. Engaging in PvP and slaying a player significantly
younger or smaller than you (someone not considered a combat peer) is
highly frowned upon and comes with no experience rewards, as you'll
have proved nothing about your prowess.
3. Activity: For those who don't wish to partake in combat, a
preferred method of gaining experience will likely be through carrying
out various daily activities such as harvesting and gathering resources,
as well as crafting items vital to your own and others' survival.
Groups and Shared Experience
Please note that shared experience for groups is not yet functional,
but this, along with a fully party system, is in the short-term plans to add
to encourage adventurers to work together.
